Meeting Description:

The National University of Distance Education of Spain (UNED), in
collaboration with the Computense University of Madrid is hosting the IX
edition of the Association for the Study of Language Acquisition (AEAL)
Conference that will be held in Madrid, from 4 to 6 September 2019 at its
Humanities Building.

AEAL promotes the study of the acquisition and development of language in
monolingual or multilingual contexts, with particular attention to the
acquisition of the Spanish, Basque, Catalan, and Galician languages, and the
relationships of language with other psychological, social, educational and
biological processes. This triennial conference is a great occasion for
meeting experts in language acquisition working in a varied set of areas such
as grammar, lexicon, discourse, pragmatics, psycholinguistics,
neurolinguistics, sociolinguistics and language didactics.

Proposal as honorary member to Dr. Catherine Snow (Harvard University)

Invited Speakers:

Dr. Elin Thordardottir (McGill University)
Dr. Antonella Sorace (Edinburgh University)

Call for Papers:

Proposals for symposiums that bring together four presentations around a theme
are particularly welcome at this congress. The areas covered by the congress
will be the following:

- Phonetic or phonological development.
- Morphosyntactic development.
- Lexical-semantic development.
- Discourse and pragmatic development.
- Sign and writing language development.
- Difficulties in language development.
- Teaching and learning of languages.
- New methodological approaches in language development studies.
