Meeting Description:

The LingCologne 2019 Multimodality conference brings to the fore the relevance
of conceiving of language in a unified way: encompassing SPOKEN and SIGNED
languages, GESTURE and WRITING. Considering multiple channels of expression
will highlight the fundamental multimodality and semiotic diversity of
language. The conference focuses on a multimodal view of language and provides
insights into the interactions of different language modalities (oral-vocal,
visual-gestural and written modality) and the systems underlying these
interactions.

Call for Papers:

Call for posters:
We invite submissions of abstracts for poster presentations contributing to
the topic of multimodal language. Contributions focusing on various
interactions of different language modalities (oral-vocal, visual-gestural and
written) are particularly welcome. All abstracts will be peer-reviewed
anonymously.

- Abstracts should not exceed 250 words (excluding references, pictures,
tables or diagrams). Abstracts must be anonymized and sent in pdf format via
email to lingcologne-2019 at uni-koeln.de
- The organizing committee will award 3 Best Poster Awards to the best three
submitted poster abstracts. The prize is the re-imbursement of the travel and
accommodation costs in value of up to 500 Euro.

Notification of acceptance April 1, 2019

The languages of the conference are English and International Sign (BSL and
DGS interpreters will be available, if needed). There is no registration fee
for this event.
