Website: http://www.issale.lk

Dates: 11-Mar-2019 - 25-Mar-2019

Focus: This language engineering summer school will focus on linguistic/technology foundations, grammar engineering, corpus linguistics, language argumentation, second language acquisition, deep learning approaches for language processing
Minimum Education Level: Undergraduate

Description:
This summer (or rather) spring school will be the third in a series. The
overall aim is to boost the area of Natural Language Engineering (NLE) for
under-resourced South Asian languages. The subject area falls within the scope
of computer science, linguistics, computational linguistics and education and
is very strongly application oriented. The intention is to provide access to
international experts in the field who can communicate advanced knowledge
about linguistics and state of the art practices in NLE to interested graduate
students and researchers in South Asia, particularly in those countries where
NLE and the development of language technologies is still in the early stages,
but at least not completely absent in the academic institutions or the
industrial efforts of the country.
