The main aim of the conference is to discuss today’s education in the light of

positive aspects of psychology that allow both learners and teachers to

Education in the light of positive psychology.

Positive psychology, defined as “the empirical study of how people thrive and
flourish”, “the study of the human strengths and virtues that make life good”
(MacIntyre and Mercer, 2014: 154), or “the scientific study of what goes right
in life” (Peterson, 2006), investigates and promotes human well-being (Oxford,
2016: 21) as well as the techniques that can enable living well (MacIntyre,
2016).

The conference topics will comprise:

- the strengths of teachers and learners as facilitative aspects of teaching /
learning processes
- educational institutions that enable ‘success’, well-being and development
of both teachers and learners
- positive learning climate
- the role of emotions in language learning and teaching
- motivational and attitudinal factors
- teacher and student well-being
- learner engagement
- flow
- flourishing
- positive psychology activities in the classroom
- Perma, Empathics
- mindfulness in education
- affect in language learning
- caring and sharing in the classroom
- positive institutional policies.

Other related topics will also be taken into consideration.
