We pleased to announce that the conference Challenges for Contemporary
Humanities: Transculturalism and Translingualism will be held in Przasnysz on
25.05.2019 at the branch department of the Linguistc-Technical University in
Świecie. Abstracts are invited for 20-minute presentations (plus 10 minutes
discussion).


Call for Papers:

Abstracts are invited for 20-minute presentations (plus 10 minutes discussion)
on topics including, but not limited to the following:

- Genealogies of transcultural and translingual studies
- Theories of transculturalism and their implications for the humanities
- Transculturalism and the changing forms of culture
- Translingualism and transculturalism
- Problems and perspectives of translingualism
- Communicative strategies in a translingual setting
- Translingualism in the context of pluralistic languages
- Transcultural studies and literary analysis
- Transcultural literature in the age of global mobility
- Translingual literature: «foreign language» in literary artworks 
- Problems of transcultural identity in literature
- Transculturalism of the original in translations
- Implications of transculturalism and translingualism for the
society,translation practice, and advertising 
- Translingualism in modern foreign language teaching 
- Transculturalism in foreign language teaching
- Translingual communicative competence in the context of community
interpreting 
- International labour market and its challenges to transcultural and
translingual competencies
