Department: Annotation Team
Job Location: , USA (Telecommute)
Web Address: https://www.here.com/
Job Title: HERE Chinese Language Annotator
Job Rank: Annotator; Researcher

Specialty Areas: Translation

Required Language(s): Chinese, Mandarin (cmn)
                      Chinese

Description:

HERE Chinese Language Annotator

Summary of the Position:
Annotation is how we at HERE measure the success of our HERE mapping software.
As an annotator, you will complete a variety of Annotation task-types.
Collectively, your ratings will allow the HERE Team to make informed changes
to the HERE mapping software and quantify our mapping database’s quality.
Without annotation, we cannot measure the quality impact of HERE maps software
development.

As a HERE Chinese Language Annotator, you will mainly work on China-based
mapping data. You will need reading and writing literacy in the Chinese
language. You will also need to perform detailed on-line research, utilizing
official websites, review sites, web searches, mapping street view, etc as
part of this annotation position. You must be able to clearly explain your
thought process behind your annotation rating choices and provide quality
research in support of that.

To apply for this position, please submit your resume or CV to Albert Lin at
the application email provided below.

Work Environment:
All annotation work is done remotely through an online website with an English
user interface. All Annotators will follow task-specific annotation guidelines
and you will receive annotation training when you start the position. Your
normal work will be reviewed by higher-level annotators known as mergers, who
will offer you direct feedback on your annotation work. There will be in-depth
personal assessments every quarter. Every month we’ll have team-wide webinar
meetings with specific media channels and e-mail groups to discuss annotation
with your peers. However, your day-to-day work is largely done independently.
This position requires 20 hours each week with flexible work hours that you
personally determine.

After high-performance assessments, you may be trained as a merger who
performs higher level work. This includes reviewing other annotator’s work,
providing final ratings, and providing feedback to other annotators as
necessary. High performance on your assessments comes with yearly raises and
the potential to reach higher-level annotation positions. Other benefits
include paid-time off and family and health leave for all annotator levels.

Position Requirements:
We require a high school diploma at a minimum. Higher education is desirable.
Reading and writing literacy in Chinese is required. Language proficiency in
more than one language, particularly Japanese, Russian, and/or Arabic, is very
desirable, but is not a requirement.

You must have proficiency with a variety of web resources and with computer
usage. You must have access to a computer, internet, and be able to work 20
hours a week. This position is only available to those who can legally work in
the United States of America.

Disclaimer:
The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of
work being performed by people assigned to this classification. They are not
intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities,
duties, and skills required of HERE Annotation employees.
