Meeting Description:

The fourth international Psychology of Language Learning conference (PLL4)

the theme “Currents and Waves.” We welcome proposals on a wide range of topics

research about psychology of language learning with emphasis on the
development of second or foreign languages

We welcome 300-word proposals from researchers and educators working in all
contexts. We particularly encourage submissions from graduate students, early
career researchers and educators. PLL4, with its emphasis on forming
connections among teachers and researchers around the world, will be an ideal
venue for presenting research in progress and also practical applications of
theoretical concepts.

Types of Presentations:

- paper
- poster
- competitive symposium (3 or 4 thematically related papers, with discussion)

Two new features of the PLL conference:
Pre-Conference: “Mobilizing Positive Psychology in SLA.” This day-long event
will feature plenary speakers, presentations of completed projects, works-in
progress and new projects as idea posters that focus on the theme of positive
psychology in SLA.

Early Career Session: Post-conference, a special session will be held for
early career participants. Going beyond a ‘how to publish’ workshop, this
event will offer practical advice on a full spectrum of early career concerns,
including how to give effective presentations of various types, publishing in
the field, and career advancement.

Language policy: The working language of the conference is English;
submissions should be written in English.

All proposals will be adjudicated anonymously by the PLL4 Scientific
Committee. Submissions will be evaluated for their contribution to the field
in terms of quality of content, thematic relevance, quality of abstract
(organization, clarity of expression).
