Meeting Description:

The Forum for Germanic Language Studies (FGLS) is an informal grouping for
anyone interested in the linguistics of the Germanic languages, and is mainly
based in the UK and Ireland. It organises a conference every two years, with
the next conference taking place at the University of Bristol from 9 to 10
January 2020.


Call for Papers:

Forum for Germanic Language Studies Conference 2020
University of Bristol, 9-10 January 2020
 

Papers:

We invite submission of abstracts for papers on any area of Germanic
linguistics. Paper presentations will consist of a 20-minute talk followed by
10 minutes for questions and discussion. Conference languages are English and
German. Abstracts should be no longer than 300 words in length and will be
peer-reviewed by the conference programme organisers. Abstracts should be
submitted by 15 September 2019 via EasyChair:
https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=fgls2020.

 
Workshops/Thematic Panels:

Four 2-hour slots in the conference programme will be reserved for thematic
panels. Submission of proposals for a thematic panel should be made via email
to Anna.Havinga at bristol.ac.uk by 15 July 2019 so that speakers can choose to
submit either to the general programme or to one of the thematic groupings.

Invited Speaker:

We are pleased that Prof. Dr Sebastian Kürschner (Katholische Universität
Eichstätt-Ingolstadt) has accepted our invitation to be the keynote speaker at
FGLS 2020.
