Meeting Description:

This conference aims to provide language researchers an opportunity to present
and communicate their work from a variety of corpus analysis and academic
discourse studies perspectives. The 3rd International Conference on Corpus
Analysis in Academic Discourse, it has decided that particular attention will
be paid to corpus studies and academic discourse analysis (whether monolingual
or multilingual).The particular aim of CAAD’19 is thus to examine the means by
which corpus linguistics attempts to detect and analyse different aspects of
academic discourse, with the ultimate aim of achieving a better understanding
of how they function in the language system.


Call for Papers:

The Interuniversity Institute of Modern Applied Languages (IULMA-UJI) and the
Department of English Studies at Universitat Jaume I in Castellón (Spain) are
delighted to announce the 3rd International Conference on Corpus Analysis in
Academic Discourse 2019 (CAAD’19). The conference will be held at Universitat
Jaume I in Castellón (Spain) on November 14-15, 2019.

The following keynote speakers have already been confirmed: 

Anna Mauranen. (University of Helsinki) Professor and Research Director, and a
former Vice-President at the University of Helsinki.

Antonio Moreno-Sandoval (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, UAM). Associate
Professor of Linguistics. Director of the Computational Linguistics Lab at
UAM, and Director of the UAM-IIC Chair in Computational Linguistics.

Susan Hunston (University of Birmingham). Professor of English Language at the
Department of English Language and Applied Linguistics.

The conference committee invites contributions on the following topics:

Corpora and academic language teaching
Corpus-based lexicology
Pragmatic studies on academic discourse
Corpora, translation and terminology studies
Tools for academic discourse studies
Corpus linguistics and academic languages for specific purposes
