Meeting Description:

Dear Language Enthusiasts,

The Department of Linguistics, with the support of the Faculty of Letters at
Istanbul University, calls for abstracts for The 13th International Conference
of the Asian Association for Lexicography (ASIALEX 2019) to be held on 19–21
June, 2019. The conference aims to provide a platform for the community of
linguists and those who are interested in languages  to meet, present and
discuss their latest research findings, key developments and future prospects
in the field of Lexicography.


Final Call for Papers:

The theme of the conference is Lexicography: Past, Present and Future. We are
happy to have four distinguished keynote speakers:

Amy Chi from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology,
Danie Prinsloo from University of Pretoria,
Gilles-Maurice de Schryver from Ghent University and 
Hayati Develi from İstanbul University.

We invite proposals for papers and posters addressing various lexicography and
dictionary-related issues mainly in the following topics:

- Content and structure
- Corpus resources
- History and criticism methods
- Users, use and research
- Pedagogical lexicography
- Turkic lexicography
- Terminology and NLP interoperability
- The future of dictionaries and lexicography

There will be two categories of presentation at the conference:

- Paper (25 minutes, including discussion)
- Posters (The posters are intended to present research still at a preliminary
stage and on which researchers would like to get feedback.)

Important Dates:

Abstract submission deadline: March 15, 2019
Notification of acceptance: April 1, 2019
Deadline for full paper submission: May 15, 2019
Deadline for early bird registration: May 15, 2019

Abstracts should be no longer than 300 words (excluding references) and should
be sent  in pdf format to:
