Description:

The Department of Linguistics at Oakland University seeks a one-year visiting
Assistant Professor for the 2019-2020 academic year. We are looking for a
theoretical linguist with a specialty in syntactic theory to teach courses in
syntax on both the undergraduate and graduate (MA) levels. The successful
candidate will also teach introductory courses in linguistics, and a secondary
area of specialization which is otherwise open. Candidates must demonstrate
experience with or a commitment to diversity and inclusion. 

Review of applications will begin on 4/15 and continue until the position is
filled.

While this is a one-year position, please note that we will be recruiting for
a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the same specialty in Fall 2019 (for an
appointment starting in Fall 2020). The successful applicant for the 2019-2020
visiting position would be most welcome to also apply for the tenure-track
position.

Minimimum Qualifications:
The Ph.D is required at the time of appointment.
