Revitalisation and reclamation of Indigenous and minoritised languages

Focus: This course focuses on revitalisation and reclamation of Indigenous and minoritised languages from diverse theoretical perspectives. Participants will be presented with central theories and methodologies in the field and explore processes of language revitalisation across social scales, from international to community and individual levels. The role of scholars as advocates or activists in minoritised language settings will also be discussed.
Minimum Education Level: MA

Enrollment in PhD program


Description:
This is a 5-day intensive course with priority for PhD student participants.
The program will consist of lectures in the morning by the invited experts and
the organisers, and short student presentations followed by discussions in the
afternoon. It is possible to take the course for ECTS credits. Please visit
the course website  for more information. Applications will be reviewed
beginning 15th May with final application deadline 1 June.

Registration Instructions:
In the on-line application portal applicants must submit a brief (250 word)
description of their project, making clear how it pertains to the course
themes. Additionally a brief letter of recommendation from a supervisor noting
that the course is relevant for the student is required.
