Meeting Description: 

On May 16, 2019, the University of Cagliari (Sardinia, Italy) will host the
Prima giornata di dialettologia maghrebina: prospettive di ricerca sulle
categorie ecolinguistiche in Tunisia e dintorni [First day on Maghrebi
dialectology: Research perspectives on the eco-linguistic categories in
Tunisia and surrounding areas].

The conference will propose new data and discussions on the North African
Arabic dialects, from both synchronic and diachronic points of view, and
papers will deal with Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco and Muslim Sicily tackling
purely linguistic analysis. The conference will be also the occasion to launch
a research project focusing on the dialects of the Tunisian Sahel.
