Meeting Description:

We are happy to announce the 4th installment of Sound of Indo-European (SoIE).
After a five-year hiatus and three successful conferences (Copenhagen 2009,
Opava 2010 & 2014) SoIE will be hosted for the first time at the University of
Cologne, 1–3 April 2020.

The conference will take place immediately following the Indogermanisches
Forschungskolloquium (FoKo) / Indo-European Research Colloquium (IERC), 30–31
March 2020 in Cologne (Website: http://ifl.phil-fak.uni-koeln.de/ierc6.html).

Call for Papers:

Papers concerning the areas of phonetics, phonology and morphophonology of the
Indo-European proto-language as well as the Indo-European individual languages
will be accepted. Moreover, papers on the nature / mechanisms of sound change
in general are also welcome. Presentations will consist of 20 minutes of
speaking time followed by 10 minutes of discussion. We accept submissions in
the four major languages of the field (English, German, French, Italian).

Abstracts no longer than 700 words must be submitted by 1 August 2019 and
should be sent via email to SoIE-conference at uni-koeln.de. After a review
process, successful candidates will be informed shortly afterwards. The
registration (for attendance without a presentation) will be open until
January 2020.
