Description:

The Department of Linguistics at the University of California at Davis invites
applications for a temporary teaching position in Linguistics for the 2019-20
academic year. Availability of this position depends upon final administrative
approval and the teaching needs of the department. The Department seeks
applicants with demonstrated research and teaching expertise. A completed
Ph.D. degree in Linguistics or related field is required.

The candidate should have a strong background in general linguistics, syntax,
and semantics, and/or textual analysis, corpus linguistics, and NLP. He/she
should be able to teach upper division courses in the areas of expertise.
Experience working with teaching assistants is preferred and experience with
Canvas, a class management system, is a plus.

Appointments will be on a quarter by quarter basis depending on need.
Compensation is commensurate with ability and experience. Candidates should
