Description:

As a member of the SpeechOutput team, the candidate will work as Speech
Scientist on prompt creation for Automotive customer projects. Therefore, they
need phonetic and computational linguistic skills as background knowledge.
These are needed to support, facilitate and validate the results of prompt
optimization processes for customer projects. Moreover, such skills are needed
to understand the algorithmic and acoustic implications of each specific
customization decision.

Furthermore, the candidate will work on optimization of TTS output according
to customer requirements. They will design regular expressions for text
transformations as well as perform and supervise prompt recordings, prompt
tunings and transcription modification to be integrated into a consistent
customer delivery of the Speech Output Service.

Responsibilities:
- Analyze customer requirements and text specifications for TTS speech output
- Prepare, generate and validate prompt project data
- Organize and supervise prompt optimization processes as well as auditive
evaluation of generated data
- Train and supervise language experts working on prompt optimization on a
phonetic transcription and intonation level
- Create text transformation rules and dictionaries for TTS to satisfy
customer requirements
- Interact with developers to improve TTS output
- Give feedback and provide ideas for tools development

Qualifications:

Number of Years of Work Experience: 
No working experience needed, but adequate education at university is a must.
Strong candidates with BSc degree and minimum 2 years work experience are also
encouraged to apply

- Background in phonetics, computational linguistics or similar, with affinity
to speech technology
- Excellent English language skills (written and spoken)
- Logistics and organizational managing skills

Preferred Skills:
- Skills in German or another European language
- Experience with Text-To-Speech technology
- Experience with tools for speech processing
- Experience with perceptual evaluation tests and statistics
- Experience with regular expressions
- Scripting Skills (Python or Perl)

Education:
- MSc in phonetics, speech technology, computational linguistics or similar
