Call Deadline: 31-May-2019

Meeting Description:

The New Zealand Discourse Conference is a cornerstone event for research
applying discourse analytic approaches. The conference accepts abstracts
representing a wide range of disciplines, research areas and methodologies,
including critical discourse studies and CDA, corpus-assisted discourse
studies, conversation analysis and multimodal discourse analysis, among
others.

The seventh Discourse Conference is being hosted by Massey University in
Wellington, New Zealand’s capital city. We are pleased to announce that
plenary speakers for 2019 include Janet Holmes, Emeritus Professor in
Linguistics and Applied Language Studies (Victoria University of Wellington);
Professor Paul Baker (Lancaster University); and Dr Brian W. King (Hong Kong
University).

Final Call for Papers:

Now Open (15/05/19 – 30/05/19)

Submissions are invited for the 7th New Zealand Discourse Conference from
academics and others interested in discourse analysis that address
theoretical, methodological or empirical research in a variety of
applications.

Abstracts are invited for 20 minute oral presentation and poster
presentations. In this final call we particularly welcome proposals for the
latter.

Abstracts should be between 300 and 350 words (plus references) and should
contain no identifying information. Submissions should relate directly to an
original piece of research and should provide a clear description of the data
under examination and method or approach employed. Abstracts should include
1-5 references (not included in the word count).

Please note that due to the large number of submissions received, we are
unable to offer more than one presentation slot to any single author, unless
the second submission is for multiply authored work and all authors are
intending to present.

Please submit abstracts by email to NZDC7 at massey.ac.nz by 31 May 2019.
