The Linguistic Data Consortium (https://www.ldc.upenn.edu) (LDC) is pleased to
announce a new language game. Name That Language
(https://namethatlanguage.org) tests your skill at recognizing the language
spoken in short audio clips. The game currently includes thousands of clips in
fourteen languages which prevents memorization and game play gets more
challenging as you progress. Players earn points for correct answers and can
unlock Bonus Rounds to earn extra points.

In addition to being fun and challenging, the game will provide useful
annotations for research on language confusability and language
identification. Game results will be shared freely for research. LDC will
continue to add new clips and more languages providing ongoing challenges and
new research data. Play games and make the world smarter!

For more information or any questions, please contact James Fiumara
(jfiumara at ldc.upenn.edu).
