Meeting Description:

The International Seminar on Albanian Language, Literature and Culture was
founded in 1974 at the Faculty of Philology (Faculty of Philosophy at the
time) of the University of Prishtina. This seminar is organized for
researchers and students engaged in the Albanian sciences and in Albanology in
general. The Seminar has so far organized 37 Sessions. In 1995 and 1996, in
co-operation with the Institute of Linguistics and Literature of the Academy
of Sciences and Arts of Albania, the Seminar was carried out its activities in
Tirana. The 19th and the 20th sessions were organized in cooperation with the
Institute of Linguistics and Literature of the Academy of Sciences of Albania.

The 38th Seminar will take place in Prishtina from 19 – 30 August 2019.

The arrival of the participants in Kosova – 18 August, 2019. The opening
ceremony of the Seminar is on 19 August, 2019 at 11:00 am.


Call for Papers:

Colloquium (29 - 30 August 2019)
The main topics for the Seminar’s Colloquium (29 – 30 August, 2019) are:

1. Linguistics: The Structure of Current Albanian
The current state and description of the phonetic and phonological state of
contemporary Albanian; The current state and description of the
morpho-syntactic system of Albanian; The current state and description of the
lexical-semantic system as well as stylistic system of Albanian; The current
state of actual variants of Albanian.
2. Literature: Dreaming in Albanian Literature
The romantic dream: the individual and society in Albanian Literature; Modern
allegories of the dream; Modern imaginary
between dream and reverie in Albanian literature; Oneiric discourse as
stylistic paradigm; Dreams and fantastic literature; The dream as another
‘reality’.
3. Culture: Social networks, Politics and Ethics
Types of social network; Culture in social network; Media in social network;
Politics in social network; ethics in social network; Branches of social
network.

Abstracts of maximum 300 words in Albanian and English should be sent to the
e-mail address: seminari.filologjik at uni-pr.edu.

The deadline for submission is the 1 June, 2019. The abstracts should include
the research topic and aim of the study, materials and methodology as well as
the expected outcomes. Please include the author’s affiliation and brief
biography, and state whether you will be presenting a lecture, reference, or a
scientific paper. Notification regarding abstract acceptance will be sent to
the submitting author until June 25 2019. Applicants from Albania should apply
in the Co-Directory of the Seminar in Tirana (e-mail: lindameniku at gmail.com).
