Description:

The University of Florida invites applications for a nine-month,
non-tenure-track Visiting Lecturer position in Linguistics for the 2019-2020
academic year. The position may be renewable for the 2020-2021 academic year
subject to availability of funds and satisfactory performance. 

Primary duties for the position will be graduate and undergraduate
instruction, with an anticipated 2-3 courses per semester teaching assignment.
Courses may include Introduction to Linguistics, graduate and undergraduate
courses in syntax and morphology, and Languages of the World. A PhD at the
time of appointment is required and previous teaching experience is highly
desirable. Participation in departmental activities, research, and student
advising is encouraged. Salary is competitive, commensurate with
qualifications and experience and includes a full benefits package

The Linguistics Department at the University of Florida is a vibrant and
congenial unit consisting of 11 full-time faculty and 15 affiliated faculty.
We offer a B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. in Linguistics, as well as an undergraduate
minor and undergraduate certificate in TESL and a graduate certificate in
Second Language Acquisition and Teaching. We have faculty expertise in a wide
range of linguistic subfields, and particular strengths in the areas of
language documentation, psycholinguistics, and African linguistics. Please see
