Meeting Description:

Pragmatics and Language Learning is a venue for research concerning the
intersection of pragmatics and language learning including interlanguage
pragmatics, pragmatic development, cross-cultural pragmatics, pragmatics and
discourse, pragmatics and computer-mediated communication, pragmatic
development in study abroad contexts, research design in the investigation of
pragmatics, the effects of instruction on pragmatics, pragmatics and testing,
classroom research, and other topics related to the learning of pragmatics in
cross-cultural, second-language contexts.

2nd Call for Papers:

Abstracts for individual (20-minute) presentations are invited for the
following areas of pragmatics: interlanguage pragmatics, pragmatic
development, cross-cultural pragmatics, pragmatics and discourse, pragmatics
and computer-mediated communication, pragmatic development in study abroad
contexts, research design in the investigation of pragmatics, the effects of
instruction on pragmatics, pragmatics and testing, classroom research, and
other topics related to the learning of pragmatics in cross-cultural,
second-language contexts.

Abstract Submission Deadline: November 3, 2019

Abstracts should be no longer than 300 words max. in length (not including
references), and must include title of paper and A/V requests.

Abstracts must be prepared for double-blind peer review.

Submissions are limited to one individual and one joint abstract per person. 
 
Before you submit your abstract, please consider including the following
information:

1. What prior research and/or theoretical framework does your study draw on?
2. What are your research question(s) and/or the purpose of your research? 
3. Describe the setting in which your data were collected and the procedures
and/or instrument(s) used to collect the data.
4. Who were the participants? and How many participants were there?
5. Give a (language) example from your data
6. How were your data analyzed?
7. What are your findings or anticipated findings?
