Description:

The Department of World Languages and Literatures at the University of Memphis
is seeking applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Spanish
position to begin Fall 2020, pending availability of funds.

Ph.D. in Spanish or related area, with a specialization in Second Language
Acquisition/Applied Linguistics. Native or near native proficiency in Spanish
required, as well as strong research potential in the field, excellence in
teaching as demonstrated by student and supervisor evaluations, and
technological skills (experience with online education highly desirable).
Duties will include teaching of language and linguistics courses at all
levels, coordination of the basic program in Spanish, and supervision of the
graduate assistants in Spanish. The faculty member will also be required to
engage in research and publish regularly in order to progress towards tenure
and promotion.
