Position Description:
The Department of Psychology at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP)
invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant
level, with a research specialization in bilingualism or second language
acquisition. This position targets, but is not limited to, applicants with
cognitive, developmental, lifespan, neuropsychological, or neuroscientific
approaches. We particularly encourage applications from researchers who would
broaden the collective expertise of the Bilingualism, Language, and Cognition
area with developmental or lifespan approaches, ERP, TMS, fNIRS, eye-tracking,
neuropsychological approaches, special populations, individual differences, or
advanced analytic approaches. The position will begin in the Fall 2020
semester.

Required Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in Psychology or related field, published research, potential to
attract external funding, and the ability to teach and direct research.

About the Department:
The Psychology Department has 19 tenured and tenure-track faculty members. It
offers a nationally recognized doctoral program with an interdisciplinary
Ph.D. concentration in Bilingualism, Language, and Cognition. Faculty in this
area lead a vibrant campus-wide interdisciplinary research community with
shared interests and collaborative research in bilingualism and language
acquisition (www.utep.edu/csrb/). The department also has Ph.D. concentrations
in Behavioral Neuroscience, Social-Cultural Psychology, Health Psychology, and
Legal Psychology and an M.A. program in Clinical Psychology.

statement of research interests and qualifications, brief description of
teaching philosophy and experience, three relevant reprints or pre-prints and
