The Department of Linguistics at the University of Texas at Austin invites
applications for a specialist in psycholinguistics at the rank of Assistant
Professor on the tenure track. The position begins on August 18, 2020 and is
contingent on funding.

Our new colleague will be an early career scholar (new PhDs through advanced
Assistant Professors) whose child- or adult-focused psycholinguistic research
will add methodological strengths to our department, including, but not
limited to, experimental design, quantitative methods, computational modeling,
imaging, and/or electrophysiological methods. The department is particularly
interested in candidates whose program of research will complement the current
areas of expertise in our department (syntax & semantics; phonetics &
phonology; computational linguistics; documentary, descriptive & historical
linguistics; and sign language linguistics). The new hire will also enjoy the
opportunity to interact with other scholars engaged in psycholinguistic and
neurolinguistic research across campus, including the Departments of
Psychology, Neuroscience, and Communication Sciences and Disorders.

Duties Include:
- Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in psycholinguistics and related
topics;
- Directing thesis and dissertation research;
- Conducting original research and publication,
- Advising undergraduate and graduate students; and
- Performing departmental and institutional service.

The Department of Linguistics and University of Texas at Austin are committed

Qualifications:
Requirements Include:
- The Ph.D., in Linguistics, Psychology, or other related field, awarded no
later than August 17, 2020; 
- Excellence or potential for excellence as a teacher, researcher and leader.
