Call Deadline: 15-Dec-2019

Meeting Description:

CADAAD conferences are intended to promote current directions and new
developments in cross-disciplinary critical discourse research. We welcome
papers which, from a critical-analytical perspective, deal with contemporary
social, scientific, political, economic, ecological or professional discourses
and genres. Within discourse contexts such as these, we especially welcome
papers which re-examine existing frameworks for critical discourse research
and/or which highlight and apply new methodologies sourced from anywhere
across the humanities, social and cognitive sciences.

Call for Papers:

We are pleased to issue the first call for papers for CADAAD 2020 (full call
for papers at https://2020cadaad.wordpress.com/call-for-papers-2/). CADAAD
2020 will take place the Universify of Huddersfield, UK 7-9 July. A
pre-conference workshop will take place on July 6 and a post-conference
excursion is planned for July 10.

The theme of this year's conference is 'Reconciling rigour and context in
CDA,' which explicitly addresses the problem of methodology. CADAAD
conferences are intended to promote current directions and new developments in
cross-disciplinary critical discourse research. We welcome papers which, from
a critical-analytical perspective, deal with contemporary social, scientific,
political, economic, ecological or professional discourses and genres. Within
discourse contexts such as these, we especially welcome papers which
re-examine existing frameworks for critical discourse research and/or which
highlight and apply new methodologies sourced from anywhere across the
humanities, social and cognitive sciences.

Reflecting the diversity of topics and approaches in critical discourse
studies, the following distinguished guests have confirmed their participation
as plenary speakers:

Professor Oliver Ramsbotham (University of Bradford, UK)
Dr Sylvia Shaw (University of Westminster, UK)
Dr Dany Badran (Lebanese American University, Lebanon)

All papers will be allocated 20 minutes plus 10 minutes for questions. The
language of the conference is English. Delegates may submit up to two
abstracts for the conference.

Individual Proposals:

conference management system Easy Chair

all abstracts in one document (pdf-file) and a statement by the panel
organizer(s) of the importance of the panel (all abstracts must be no longer
than 350 words excluding references).
