Meeting Description:

As part of the SLA 2020 Spring Conference the CLASP Program at the University
of Colorado Boulder is pleased to announce a call for papers for a graduate
student paper competition. The winner of the competition will be recognized
and granted a plenary spot on the SLA 2020 conference program. Submissions of
up to 8,000 words (excluding references) should be sent by December 2 to
clasp at colorado.edu.


Call for Papers:

Eligibility:

Current graduate student (masters or PhD level).
Registered participant for the SLA 2020 Spring Conference in Boulder,
Colorado.
Submit abstract of paper via the SLA submission portal.
Email full paper of up to 8,000 words, excluding references, to
clasp at colorado.edu
Paper should address this year’s SLA 2020 conference theme.
Paper submissions must be unpublished at the time the conference takes place.
Must be single authored.
Paper should be formatted using general APA guidelines.
In addition to your paper submission, please submit:
Proof of student registration for the SLA 2020 Spring Conference

CV:

Short bio (200 words)
Please email your paper and supporting documents to clasp at colorado.edu with
the subject line ''Graduate Student Paper Competition'' by 2 December, 2019.
The paper itself should be attached in Microsoft Word (.doc) or PDF format and
should contain NO information identifying the author of the paper.

The planning committee reserves the right to not designate a winner and
student plenary spot for this year's conference should it fail to find
applicants who fulfill the above qualifications.

Please note that you must also register and submit your abstract to the
regular conference proposal system. However, should you win the graduate
student paper competition, you will receive a spot as a plenary speaker
instead of having your paper placed on a panel. If your paper abstract is
accepted by the conference program committee but does not win the paper
competition, your placement on the program will follow the regular program
planning guidelines.
