Subject: Laughter as a Discourse Marker Survey

Hello! My name is Emily Finley and I am a second year Master’s student at the
University of Texas at Arlington. I am doing an IRB-approved study at UTA that
is looking at how laughter is used in text messages. The goal of this study is
to better understand how we communicate through text messages and how it may
mirror spoken conversation. I am collecting data for this project in the form
of screenshots of text conversations containing a use of laughter. If you
would like to contribute your own data to this study, please go to the survey
link below!
