Description:

The Department of English Language and Literature at Seoul National University
in South Korea invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position,
beginning on March 1, 2020. 

Seoul National University is the top-ranking research university in Korea,
with 43,000 students and 2,100 tenured or tenure-track faculty members (Please

committed to preparing students to live as responsible leaders in an
increasingly interconnected world. With nearly thirty faculty members
specializing in teaching and researching both English linguistics and
literature, the Department of English Language and Literature is the largest
in the College of Humanities (for more information, see
http://humanities.snu.ac.kr/en/English_Language_Introduction ). For this
tenure-track position, we are particularly interested in applicants who are
scholarly and pedagogically committed to English linguistics. Preference will
be given to applicants with a distinguished research record. 

Qualifications: 
All applicants must have a Ph.D. degree and an internationally visible
research profile (A minimum of 200% publications required. For further

English and Korean. 

Teaching Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will teach two three-credit courses per semester,
totaling four courses per year, which include both undergraduate and graduate
courses in the major area, a freshmen English course, and a general education
course based on linguistics. Candidates should be capable of not only teaching
at both the undergraduate and graduate levels but also supervising graduate
students. 

Salary and Benefits:
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. A substantial
start-up research fund is awarded to all new faculty. Faculty housing on
campus is available.
