''Dígitos'' is a journal specialized in digital communication published by the
Department of Theory of Languages and Communication Sciences of the University
of Valencia (Spain). It is an open-access journal founded in 2014, published
annually. Each issue of Digits includes a monographic theme, complemented by
studies related to the subject of the journal's general study: digital
communication.

Issue 6 (2020) of the journal, edited by doctors Raquel Tarullo (Research and
Transfer Center of the Northwest of the province of Buenos Aires) and Agnese
Sampietro (Universitat Jaume I, Castellón) will be dedicated to the symbols of
mobilization on social networks used as a deployment or promotion of digital
activism, as well as the symbolic manifestations of urban space reproduced
digitally. Case studies include research on the digital reproduction of
offline symbols (banners, images of mobilizations, circulation of slogans,
campaign posters) and online (hashtags, images, videos, memes...) that are
displayed in all types of mobilization: feminist organizations, LGTBI, trade
unions, student movements, environmental activism, religious groups,
independence movements, human rights organizations, political mobilizations,
organizations in defense of immigrants and refugees, cultural, ethnic or
linguistic minorities, political activism during election campaign periods,
etc.

Please submit a 3.000-10.000 words paper by December 15, 2019. Authors will be
notified of acceptance by April 2020 and the next issue of Dígitos will be
published in June 2020. Dígitos accepts original articles and reviews written
in the following languages: English, French, Catalan, and Spanish. Publishing
