Description:

Full-time teaching load is three courses per semester for fall and spring
semesters, with professional development and service also expected. Candidates
must demonstrate excellence in teaching. This is a one-year, non-tenure track,
renewable position with full benefits, with an expected start date of August
24, 2020.

This position will support the University’s commitment to innovation in
teaching as well as the World Language Center's vision of developing students'
intercultural communicative competence. Candidates should have a demonstrated
commitment to fostering diverse and inclusive environments as well as to
promoting experiential learning, which are central to a Northeastern
University education.

A Ph.D. in French or a related field or terminal degree in hand by the start
of the appointment is preferred. The successful applicant should be well
trained in the teaching of French language and culture, have experience
teaching languages using film and technology, and possess native or near
native proficiency in French. Special consideration will be given to
candidates who are able to teach courses in hybrid or online formats. A degree
in French applied linguistics, second language acquisition, or pedagogy is
highly desirable.
