Elsevier are pleased to offer free access to the latest Publisher's Note at
https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S002438412030053X. 

In this note we welcome a new Book Reviews Editor to the journal - Rikke
Bundgaard-Nielsen of
Western Sydney University, Australia - and we take the opportunity to thank
the Lingua community who have contributed to the journal's robust peer review
process.

Thanks to this support, editorial speeds remain phenomenal. In 2019, Lingua
received 526 submissions and yet the average time for desk rejection was just
0.5 weeks. The average
time taken from submission to rejection (not including desk) was just 8.6
weeks, whilst the time taken from submission to
acceptance was just 25 weeks, including a full peer review process. Overall,
it took an average of just 36.6 weeks
from submission for an article to first appear online. The journal now has an
acceptance rate of 18% as the Editors
publish only the highest quality research. We are also pleased to announce
that the journal received over 201,600
downloads in 2019.

We are also pleased to announce some new features available on the Lingua
homepage including Author and Reviewer Stories and Editor's Choice Articles,
which are freely available each quarter. Lingua also offers authors Share Link
which provides each author with 50 days’ free access to their article after
publication and which they are able to share throughout their networks via
email and social media, in tandem with the Green Open Access and Gold Open
Access alternatives.
