Description:

Prof. Dr. Judith Tonhauser from the Department of English Linguistics at the
University of Stuttgart invites applications for a three-year full-time
postdoctoral researcher in experimental linguistics. The position can be
renewed for one year.

The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in linguistics (or a related field) with
expertise in experimental methods and statistical data analysis (including
mixed-effects regression modeling) and their application to research questions
in sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics or general linguistics. The ideal
candidate will have experience in conducting web-based experiments and
excellent programming skills (such as Javascript, Python, R). 

The postdoctoral researcher is expected to conduct research in their area of
expertise and to collaborate with Prof. Dr. Tonhauser, whose research
interests lie in the areas of semantics, pragmatics, prosody and social
meaning (https://judith-tonhauser.github.io/). The postdoctoral researcher
will also assist in the organization of workshops and the management of the
laboratory of the department (including the implementation of data protection
regulations) as well as teach courses in English linguistics.

The starting date is November 1 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter. The
position is remunerated according to E13 of the German TV-L pay-scale.
