Description:

The Department of Linguistics at the Georg-August-University of Göttingen is
seeking to fill the position of a Junior Researcher (f/m/d) with 65% of the
regular weekly working hours (currently 25.87 hours/week) for a limited period
of 3 years. The salary will be paid according to salary group 13 TV-L. 

The Department of Linguistics at the Georg-August-University of Göttingen
represents General Linguistics in its entire breadth. Research areas:
under-documented languages and experimental fieldwork, Indo-European Studies
and historical linguistics, language typology, linguistic theory.

Your asks:
- Collaboration in a DFG research project on information structure and
ergativity in the languages of Central America (PI: Professor Stavros
Skopeteas; in collaboration with Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and CNRS,
Paris)
- Experimental fieldwork on Chibcha languages (Central America)
- Presentation and publication of research outcomes
- Participation in the scientific activities of the Linguistics Department
(workshops, colloquia, publications)

Your profile:
Mandatory:
- Completed MA in linguistics (or equivalent degree)
- Very good knowledge of written and spoken English

Desirable:
- Knowledge in syntactic and/or prosodic research
- Competence in experimental research
- Experience with understudied languages 
- Knowledge of German and/or Spanish

The position offers the possibility of scientific qualification at the PhD
level. The position is suitable for part-time work.
