Description:

Central Washington University (Ellensburg, WA). The Department of World
Languages and Cultures is hiring a tenure-track faculty member in Spanish with
expertise in second-language acquisition. The incumbent will be expected to
teach all levels of Spanish classes, including online sections, to coordinate
first-year and second-year Spanish L2 classes, to do advising, and be active
in recruitment and retention initiatives for the Spanish program and the World
Languages and Cultures department. This position is crucial as we update
curriculum in the Spanish B.A. and look to develop a teacher training program
in the near future. 

Required qualifications:

- PhD in Spanish or related field
- Demonstrated record of scholarship in Applied Linguistics or Second Language
Acquisition
- Experience in program coordination, curriculum design, and program/course
assessment
- Demonstrated record of inclusive pedagogy
- Demonstrated record of commitment to diversity and equity 
- Demonstrated proficiency in Spanish 

Preferred qualifications:

- Experience with online instruction
- Experience teaching Spanish Phonetics, Professional/Business Spanish,
Spanish Translation
- Experience with outreach and articulation with K12 and Community College
partners
