Focus: The Summer School in English Corpus Linguistics is an introductory course in corpus linguistics for students of the English language which is designed to be accessible and inspiring!
Minimum Education Level: BA


Special Qualifications:
Students are expected to have a basic knowledge of concepts in English linguistics, especially grammar.


Description:
The Survey of English Usage at University College London (UCL) will be running
a three-day Summer School in English Corpus Linguistics from Wednesday 1 July
2020 until Friday 3 July 2020. You will be taught in the heart of London by
world-class researchers.

Mornings consist of a ‘theory lecture’ and a ‘practical lecture’. The theory
session on the first day is on English grammar, the second is on corpus
linguistics methodologies and the final theory session introduces the basic
principles of statistics. The afternoons consist of intensive ‘hands-on’
practical sessions where students are able to make the most of what they have
learned. 

Wed only have 25 places. Be sure to book early.
