Meeting Description:

We are happy to announce the XIII Workshop on Formal Linguistics, to be held
on September 22- 25, 2020, at Auditório do Instituto de Letras, Universidade
de Brasília, Brazil. The Workshop aims to promote scientific debate on topics
of interest in Linguistics, with emphasis on formal approaches to grammar and
their interfaces. The Workshop welcomes papers on any topic concerning formal
accounts to meaning and structure with relevance to linguistic theory,
exploring either core aspects of grammar or interface phenomena
(syntax-semantics, syntax-prosody, morpho-syntax, morpho-phonology,
semantics-pragmatics, language acquisition, language change). The Workshop
strongly encourages the submission of research on under-represented languages.

Invited speakers: Veneeta Dayal (Yale University), Liliana Sánchez (The
University of Illinois at Chicago), David Pesetsky (MIT), Fábio Duarte (UFMG),
Ana Brandão (UFPA).


Call for Papers: 

We invite abstract submissions for 20-minute talks (plus 10 minutes for
discussion) and/or posters (posters should measure approximately 90cm x 120cm
or 35.5in x 47.3in) on any topic on formal linguistics. All abstracts should
be anonymized and written in English, and no more than two pages in length
(including examples and references). They should use an A4 format with margins
of at least 2cm (0.79in) and font size 12pt (Times New Roman). Submissions are
limited to one individual and one joint abstract per author, or two joint
abstracts per author.

When you submit your abstract please indicate whether you would like it to be
considered:
(i) for a talk only;
(ii) for a talk or a poster;
or (iii) for a poster only.
