Description:

English Programs for Internationals (http://www.epi.sc.edu/) of the University
of South Carolina invites applications for an Instructor/Sponsored Programs
Coordinator position. The successful candidate will be able to teach ESL at
all levels and will be prepared, under the guidance of the Director, to
develop and coordinate grant-funded and sponsored short-term programs.
Additionally, the successful candidate will prepare regular reports for
student sponsoring organizations. Submissions from candidates who possess
experience teaching English as a Second Language in U.S.-based,
university-governed intensive English programs, as well as overseas, and who
have a demonstrated history of project development, administration, and
budgeting are especially welcome. This is a 12-month renewable appointment.

A Master’s in Applied Linguistics/SLA/TESL/TEFL (or closely-related field) and
a minimum of two years of teaching experience, preferably in a US-based
intensive English program OR A Master’s/Doctorate in a related field and a
minimum of 18 earned credit-hours at the graduate level in the areas of
linguistics, culture and society, educational foundations, second-language
pedagogy, second-language assessment, and a minimum of two years of teaching
experience, preferably in a US-based intensive English program; Prior
experience with sponsored programs, project management.

Preferred qualifications include:

- An earned degree in business or project management/administration
- Doctorate in Applied Linguistics/SLA/TESL/TEFL
- Demonstrated interest in promoting effective language teaching
- A record of sponsored program and grant management
- Expertise teaching ESL at the college level
- Overseas teaching experience
- Professional involvement in the field
- Fluency in a second or additional language

If an interview is requested then three letters of recommendations on
letterhead with original signatures will be required. If an offer is accepted
then two official transcripts from institutions which graduate study has been
undertaken will be required.
