Department of Linguistics and Modern Language Studies 
Faculty of Humanities

The Department seeks applications for a full-time academic position at the
rank of Assistant Professor.  The appointee is expected to be an active
researcher with research expertise in digital humanities and/or corpus
linguistics in multilingual settings, be able to acquire external research
grants and have publications in leading international journals. 
  
The successful candidate will contribute to the curriculum development in
digital humanities at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and the
research growth of the Department in their expertise areas.  He/she is also
expected to teach linguistics courses such as English grammar, English
phonetics, discourse analysis, psycholinguistics and second language
acquisition. 

Applicants should have a Doctoral Degree in Linguistics, preferably with
teaching experiences.  Those with a relevant Postgraduate Diploma in Education
(PGDE) or QTS recognized by the Education Bureau of Hong Kong will be
preferable.  Proven evidence of strong publication and external competitive
grant records is an advantage.  

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract.  Fringe benefits
include contract-end gratuity, leave, medical and dental benefits, and where
applicable, housing benefits.
