Meeting Description:

The Romance linguists and translation scientists of the University of
Innsbruck have been hosting this conference series - initiated by Prof. Gerd
Wotjak in Leipzig in 1987 - since 2008. It is exclusively dedicated to
contrastive linguistics. Both theoretical and applied aspects of contrastive
studies shall be covered. Besides contrasting German and Romance languages or
Romance languages among themselves, the conference also accepts papers
contrasting Romance languages with other languages than German.


Call for Papers: 

We invite contributions in the following areas: 

1) Contrastive phonetics and phonology 
2) Contrastive morphology and onomastics 
3) Contrastive syntax 
4) Contrastive lexicology and semantics 
5) Contrastive phraseology 
6) Contrastive text and discourse linguistics 
7) Constrastive pragmatics and interaction analysis 
8) Contrastive sociolinguistics 
9) Contrastive applications in translation studies 
10) Contrastive applications in language teaching 

Submissions of abstracts via the conference website:

The languages of the conference are German and all Romance languages.
