Subject: Call for Papers in honour of Professor Fakoya

 Professor Adeleke Fakoya is a renowned linguist whose contributions continue
to have significant impacts in the teaching and research of discourse analysis
in Nigeria and beyond. His works and person continue to demonstrate leadership
roles in the conception and delivery of teaching and research pertaining to
the English language in Nigeria. His influential contributions have appeared
in local and international journals, together with a range of textbooks, all
focusing on a range of topics including but not limited to classroom discourse
analysis, conversational analysis, English grammar, varieties of world
Englishes, discourse studies, and English as a second language.

Having deservedly earned a status as one of the most important linguists in
the linguistics community in Nigeria, Professor Adeleke Fakoya continues to
distinguish himself in the academic and non-academic leadership roles which
continually underline needs for excellence in the delivery of teaching and
research in Nigeria academy. His excellent mentorship of students and
colleagues has produced many scholars who are today themselves important
figures in their respective fields. His teaching and research philosophy, an
ever search and strive for excellence in our delivery of linguistics
education, endear him to his students, peers and friends.

To this end, (a) volume (s) is/are thus being prepared to honour him and
recognise his contributions to the linguistics community. Hence, former
students, colleagues, past and present, and friends are thereby invited to
contribute papers of significant insights on any specific or broad themes
relating to classroom discourse analysis, conversational analysis, English
grammar, varieties of world Englishes, discourse studies, Nigerian English,
English as a second language, and so on. No restriction on themes! 
 
Contributors should please note the following IMPORTANT information.
Contributions that do not follow these instructions will be immediately
rejected.

- Contributions should have maximum 8 pages, of which more than 50% (i.e.
minimum of 4.5 pages) must be data-driven analyses. Papers with intuitive data
are less preferred.

- Empirical papers are preferred but theoretical papers which address
important innovative questions and show great promise leading to discussions
are also welcomed.

- Papers that are not innovative in any respects relating to data, theory,
analyses, and/or methodology will not be accepted. Old questions addressed in
innovative ways are welcome. 

- Papers should be anonymous and have NO information identifying the author

- No endnote please. However, short footnotes are welcome.

- Submissions/texts must be in SINGLE SPACE, 12 Font. Times Roman.

- Abstract (300 words) of the proposed work must first be submitted on or
before February 15, 2020 to: mayowa.akinlotan at ku.de  Full papers, if
available, can suffice.  

- Papers with any instance of plagiarism WILL be immediately rejected. 

- Submissions must be in both PDF and MS Word

The volume is expected to be out early next year 2020. Contributors shall not
be asked for any publication charges.
