21st Roundtable for the Semiotics of Law (IRLS) and 15th Conference on Legal
Translation and Interpreting and Comparative Legilinguistics (Legal
Linguistics): 

The Institute of Applied Linguistics at Adam Mickiewicz University together
with Roundtable for the Semiotics of Law, will hold an international
conference devoted to language and the law. Our aim is to provide a forum for
discussion in those scientific fields where linguistic and legal interests
converge, and to facilitate integration between linguists, computer scientists
and lawyers from all around the world.

The conference will be held over 3 days, from 26th to 28th June
(Friday-Sunday) 2020 in Poznan, Poland. The main topic of the Conference will

40 places at the conference will be reserved for persons submitting the papers
on the main topic, but we also invite papers on the following topics:

(ix) legal and linguistic interpretation of texts formulated in legal language

(xi) speech style in the courtroom
(xii) comprehensibility of legal instruments
(xiii) Plain Language Campaigns
(xiv) linguistic aspects of cross-examination
(xv) technicality in legal language

Session proposals and any questions should be submitted to the following

The abstracts should be sent by 28 February 2020.
Abstract acceptance notification: 10 March 2020.
Submission of full papers : 30 July 2020.
Conference fee without accommodation:
Early payment by 31 March 2020: €150.
Payment from 1 April to 20 April 2020: €200.
Payment after 21 April or on arrival: €250.
The conference fee includes the cost of the conference gala dinner, 3 lunches,
tea breaks and publication of papers after positive double-blind reviews.
