Meeting Description:

The Annual Conference on African Linguistics (ACAL) is an annual conference
welcoming papers and posters in any area of African Linguistics. ACAL 51-52
will be held at the University of Florida, April 8-11, 2021.


Call for Papers: 

ACAL welcomes papers on any area of African Linguistics for paper or poster
presentations. Paper presentations will be 20 minutes long with 10 minutes for
questions. 

Papers or posters that were accepted for ACAL 51 at Rutgers may be presented
at ACAL 51-52. Presenters should notify the conference organizers by Sept 30
to confirm their intent to present an accepted paper. 

The deadline for new submissions is October 31, 2020, 11:59pm Eastern Time.
Abstracts will be subject to blind review. Abstracts should be submitted
through ACAL’s EasyAbs website: http://linguistlist.org/easyabs/ACAL5152

All abstracts must be written in English and must not exceed 500 words,
including any data. Non-English language data should include interlinear
glosses following the Leipzig Glossing Rules. The 500-word abstract should be
single-spaced and in a Unicode font no smaller than 11 point, and in .pdf or
.doc/.docx format. 

Submissions are restricted to one single-authored paper and one co-authored
paper per individual. This includes submissions accepted for ACAL 51.
Submitters from Africa will be notified of acceptance by Dec 1. Others will be
notified by January 7, 2021. Accepted presenters will have the option to
present virtually if travel and safety are impacted due to COVID 19.
