Description:

The Section of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics is seeking to appoint a
full-time Teaching Associate in Language Typology from 1 October 2020 for 12
months (to 30 September 2021). The successful candidate should hold a Ph.D. in
Linguistics.

The Temporary Teaching Associate will be expected to teach Language Typology
on undergraduate Linguistics Tripos papers at introductory, intermediate and
advanced levels, as well as contribute to teaching and supervision of MPhil
students. Teaching will include lectures, seminars, supervisions and practical
sessions. The successful candidate will also be expected to take an active
part in general Departmental administration and examining. Excellent
interpersonal and communication skills are also essential.

The closing date for applications is midnight (GMT) on Tuesday 21 July 2020
and interviews are planned for the following week, subject to change. It is
expected that the interview will be conducted virtually, using Microsoft Teams
or Zoom. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to present a short lecture on a
topic in Language Typology.
