Meeting Description:

The 28th Japanese/Korean Linguistics Conference (JK28) - Satellite Workshop 

The aim of this virtual workshop is to create a forum to exchange good
practice, tools, resources, creative ideas and our visions in teaching
Japanese/Korean linguistics. In particular, we hope to initiate discussion on
effective teaching methods and strategies for online teaching which will be
more common in the coming years. Abstracts addressing any aspect of teaching
and learning Japanese/Korean linguistics in higher education are welcome. 

Workshop registration will be free for the attendees of the 28th
Japanese/Korean Linguistics Conference. If you have any questions, feel free
to e-mail us, at JKLinguistics at uclan.ac.uk.


Call for Papers: 

Abstracts addressing any aspect of teaching and learning Japanese/Korean
linguistics in higher education are welcome. 

Topics include, but are not limited to:
 - Inclusive classroom
 - Research-informed teaching
 - Teaching language variation and change
 - Linguistics for language students 
 - Effective teaching methods and techniques
 - Tools and resources for teaching Japanese/Korean linguistics 

All presenters will be asked to prepare a pre-recorded presentation (maximum
20 minutes for oral presentation and 5 minutes for poster). Live discussion
session (on Zoom) will be scheduled on 20 September 2020 (details TBA).

 - Abstract submission deadline 31 July 2020 11:59 pm (GMT)
 - Notification of acceptance 15 August 2020 
 - Authors upload a pre-recorded presentation by 6 September 2020 
 - Live discussion 20 September 2020 on Zoom

Abstract guidelines:
 - Abstracts should be written in English and not exceed 1 page including
references, examples and/or figures 
 - Submitted abstracts must be in .pdf format, with Times New Roman font, size
12, 1 inch margins and single spacing.
 - The filename must be in the form Paper_title.pdf (e.g.,
Logical_structure_of_linguistic_theory.pdf).
 - Do not include author names or affiliations in either the filename or the
abstract itself.
 - During the submission process, authors will be asked to whether an abstract
is submitted for oral presentation, poster presentation, or either. 
 - During the submission process, authors will be asked to provide between
three and five keywords that best characterize their submission.
 - During the submission process, choose one or two topics including
‘Pedagogical Approaches to JK Linguistics’.
