Description:

The National University of Ireland, University College Cork, invites
applications for a “Lectureship” (a tenure-track/tenured position equivalent
to Assistant/Associate Prof. in the US and Asia-Pacific) in Chinese
Linguistics or Applied Chinese Linguistics. 

The successful candidate will hold a PhD in Chinese Studies, Linguistics or a
related field, and have native or near-native competence in Chinese and
English. Academic expertise and evidence of research and teaching in any area
of Chinese linguistics are welcome. The successful candidate will be expected
to contribute to our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, while also
pursuing research and contributing to administration. Specifically, the
successful candidate will conduct and publish research in a field related to
Chinese Linguistics, Applied Chinese Linguistics, or Chinese Studies, play a
leading role teaching and coordinating the university’s successful Masters in
Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (MATCSOL) program, and, as
part of a larger team, occasionally advise upon the coordination of elements
in the university’s wider range of Chinese language course offerings.

€60,167/€65,758 - €84,550. Salary placement on appointment will be in
