Description:
This online workshop takes you through many critical—yet often
overlooked—steps of the research process in quantitative linguistics. Whether
you are new to the field or an experienced researcher, this workshop will help
you develop and solidify your statistical and methodological knowledge.

Topics to be covered:

-Getting started in R

-Getting to know your data through descriptives and visualizations

-Presenting your data through elegant graphics

-Achieving generalizability through appropriate sampling

-Principles of research design and inference

-Statistical inference and estimation thinking: going beyond 
p-values

-Calculating and interpreting effect sizes and confidence intervals
