Description:

The Department of Classics, Modern Languages and Linguistics at Concordia
University in Montréal, Quebec, invites applications for two limited-term
appointments, one in Generative Linguistics with a specialization in
Psycholinguistics and one in Indo-European Historical Linguistics. Applicants
for both positions must have a strong background in linguistic theory. 

For the Psycholinguistics position, the successful applicant will be a
generative linguist with demonstrated competence in psycholinguistics.
Competence in morphology and one or more additional subfields will be a plus.

The Indo-European Historical applicants must have a specialization in one or
two branches of older Indo-European. Applicants will be required to teach
courses in Indo-European and Historical Linguistics in a
theoretically-informed manner.

All applicants must have a Ph.D. in Linguistics by contract start date and
proven excellence in teaching in the relevant areas. For the Indo-European
position, applicants who have a Ph.D. in Indo-European or a related field will
be considered as well.

These positions are subject to budgetary approval and need, and are full-time,
normally at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor beginning August 1,
2020 and ending May 14, 2021. Individuals holding limited-term appointments
may be granted a subsequent appointment, given continued funding and need, as
well as satisfactory job performance. Together, initial appointments and
subsequent appointments may not exceed 36 months or a span of three
consecutive years.
