Meeting Description:

The Department of Hispanic and Italian Studies at the University of Illinois
at Chicago
will host the UIC Bilingualism Forum 2020, a bi-annual conference organized by
graduate students from the Hispanic Linguistics program at UIC. The UIC
BilForum is dedicated to research in any area related to bilingualism,
including theoretical linguistics, code-switching, second language
acquisition, psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, neurolinguistics, cognitive
sciences, heritage languages and bilingual acquisition.

We are proud to welcome as keynote speakers:  
Dr. Jason Rothman (UiT The Arctic University of Norway and the University of
Nebrija)
Dr. Almeida Jacqueline Toribio (University of Texas – Austin)

Second Call for Papers: 

Due to the Covid-19 situation, we have extended the deadlines for abstract
submission. The new deadline for abstract submissions is April 30, 2020 and
the notification of acceptance will now be July 15, 2020.

Abstracts for paper presentations or posters are invited on any area related
to bilingualism: theoretical linguistics, code-switching, SLA,
psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, neurolinguistics, cognitive sciences,
heritage languages, bilingual acquisition, etc. Presentations will be 20
minutes each with 10 minutes for discussion.

Abstracts will be submitted through Easy Abs at
https://linguistlist.org/confservices/EasyAbs/customabssub.cfm?emeetingid=5102
JA44587E465A40A050441. Abstracts should be 1 pg (12 pt font) with an
additional page for examples and references. They should be anonymized, so
there should be a separate (third) page that includes their name, title, and
affiliation. There should be a total of 3 pages.
