Subject: Invitation: Emergency Remote Language Teaching

Dear Colleague,

You’re invited to participate in a research study about college-level world
language faculty’s perceptions of Emergency Remote Language Teaching (ERLT) of
undergraduates. ERLT is a temporary shift of instructional delivery in
language education to an alternate delivery mode due to crisis circumstances
such as those experienced during COVID-19. In this study, we are interested
in knowing your perceptions of the value of online language teaching, your
confidence for ERLT, and your students’ readiness for ERLT during the COVID-19
outbreak.

It will take no more than 20 minutes of your time to complete the online
survey. Participants may enter to win one of five $20 Amazon Gift Cards when
they complete the survey.

If you teach any language other than Mandarin Chinese, please fill out Survey
A: https://tinyurl.com/COVID19Perceptions by May 30;

If you teach Mandarin Chinese, please fill out Survey B:
https://tinyurl.com/COVID19Mandarin by May 30.

The first page of the survey is an Information Sheet with more details about
this research.

Feel free to forward the message to any interested colleagues. Thank you!

Katie Angus, Ph.D. University of Southern Mississippi
