Call Deadline: 01-Sep-2020

Meeting Description:

***It is unclear at this point in time whether we will be able to hold an
in-person event for the 52nd Algonquian Conference due to the coronavirus
pandemic. We would hate, however, to have to miss our annual opportunity to
share research findings and language teaching inspirations, not to mention the
opportunity to see old friends and make new ones. We also do not want to lose
the opportunity to share our collected wisdom in the annual Papers of the
Algonquian Conference.

For that reason, we will go ahead with planning a conference, with the
knowledge that it may have to be partly or entirely virtual. The conference
will be hosted (in some form or other) by the University of Wisconsin-Madison
from Friday October 23 through Sunday October 25, 2020***

This conference is an international meeting for researchers, speakers,
language learners, and community members to share papers on Algonquian peoples
and cultures. Fields of interest include anthropology, archaeology, art,
biography, education, ethnography, ethnobotany, folklore, geography, history,
language education, linguistics, literature, music, Native studies, political
science, psychology, religion, and sociology.

Call for Papers:

send (as a pdf
attachment) your title and an abstract of a maximum of 300 words (excluding
